Sadeem

Sadeem Terms of Use

Effective date: 2 November 2026

These terms apply to the Sadeem app ("Sadeem", "the app"), made by Mohammad Kanbar ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Sadeem, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Your licence to use Sadeem

Sadeem is licensed to you, not sold. Your licence is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"), https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/, together with these terms. If the two conflict, the Standard EULA takes priority, except where these terms give you more rights.

The licence is between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.

2. Sadeem Pro, subscriptions and the free trial

Some features need Sadeem Pro, offered as an annual subscription and as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app and on the App Store before you buy, in your local currency.

We may change which features are included in Sadeem Pro or the free version. We will not remove a feature you have already paid for during a paid subscription period, and a lifetime purchase keeps the Sadeem Pro features for as long as we offer the app.

3. Information for guidance only — please read

Sadeem calculates the positions of the Sun, Moon, planets, stars and other objects, and estimates darkness, light pollution, weather effects, visibility and the Stargazing Score. These are estimates. Real conditions depend on local weather, haze, terrain, buildings, your eyesight, your equipment and many other things the app cannot know.

Do not rely on Sadeem for navigation, safety-critical, scientific or professional decisions.

4. Your safety

Never look at the Sun with your eyes, binoculars, a telescope or a camera without a proper certified solar filter, including during a partial or annular eclipse. Looking at the Sun can cause permanent blindness. Nothing in Sadeem tells you it is safe to look at the Sun.

Observing usually happens at night and outdoors. You are responsible for your own safety: tell someone where you are going, respect private property and local laws, take care near roads, water and uneven ground, dress for the weather, and do not use the app while driving.

5. Your content

Your journal entries, notes and other things you create in Sadeem belong to you. They are stored on your device and, if you turn on sync, in your own iCloud account. We do not access them. You are responsible for keeping your own backups.

6. Our content and intellectual property

Sadeem — including its software, design, text, lessons, stories, guides, illustrations, icons, sky charts, the curated catalogue and the way it is selected and arranged, and the name and logo "Sadeem" — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. © 2026 Mohammad Kanbar. All rights reserved.

Except as these terms or the law allow, you may not:

You may share charts, screenshots and printouts you make with Sadeem for your personal, educational and non-commercial use, such as with friends, a class or an astronomy club, as long as Sadeem is credited.

7. Third-party data and open licences

Sadeem uses data, software and images from other sources, listed in the app under Settings › Credits. They remain the property of their owners and are used under their licences.

Some data is published under open licences, such as the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence (CC BY-SA 4.0). Nothing in these terms restricts any rights you have under those licences. Where we have adapted such data, the adapted version is available under the same licence at https://sadeem-app.com/data/. Section 6 does not apply to that data.

Weather data is provided by Apple Weather. Apple's data sources are listed at https://weatherkit.apple.com/legal-attribution.html.

8. Availability and changes to the app

We work to keep Sadeem accurate and available, but we do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or compatible with every device or software version. We may update, change or stop offering features, or the app, at any time. Some features depend on Apple services, such as Apple Weather and iCloud, that we do not control.

9. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent the law allows, Sadeem is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some places do not allow certain warranties to be excluded, so some of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Sadeem or your reliance on its information. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Sadeem in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Ending these terms

You can stop using Sadeem at any time by deleting it. If you seriously break these terms, your licence ends automatically. Sections 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 continue after the licence ends.
